Georgia Climate Stories Presents, “Koinonia Farm – Americus, GA”

August 20, 2021

“As I walk around and I look at those solar panels, of course, it makes me smile, but the deepest reaction I have is gratitude. It just makes me deeply, deeply grateful.” -Bren Dubay, Director of Koinonia Farm

Two years ago, Koinonia Farm approached Creative Solar, an organization that finds “creative energy solutions for a brighter future,” with an interest in installing solar power on their pecan farm. With the help of Georgia Interfaith Power and Light, Koinonia, an Intentional Christian community, was able to get support to finance the cost of installation. Now with their solar array, they offset greenhouse emissions equivalent to the work of 17,000 trees.
